Description

1962 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible 1192 cc engine, 4 speed manual transmission Nice white bucket seat interior and white vinyl convertible top Radio with bluetooth, Brought in from sunny arizona prior to previous owner This 1962 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible is finished in red over white vinyl upholstery and powered by air-cooled 1.2L flat-four linked with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a replacement white soft top, a RetroSound digital stereo, Pioneer speakers, and 15" steel wheels with polished hubcaps. The car was acquired by the seller in 2001 from Duffy's Collectible Cars, and loved it ever since. Equipment includes a replacement white soft top, chrome bumpers and trim, dual mirrors, bullet-style turn signals, and dual exhaust outlets. Steel 15" wheels wear polished VW hubcaps and are mounted with Classic whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes and checked in our shop. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that were reupholstered in white vinyl. Features include lap belts, a locking glove compartment, and a RetroSound digital stereo linked to Pioneer speakers. A 12-volt wiper system has been fitted. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 90-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 19310 (assume it has been rolled over) approximately 13k miles of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The clock does not function. The air-cooled 1.2L flat-four was reportedly rebuilt but we have no paperwork. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. As the ads in the 60's stated" In the last 6 years this car has mystified millions. People have called it everything from an Alfa Romeo to a Ferrari". Fun to drive and rare to find! As always, we will consider all types of trades. Financing and transportation are available. Why buy from us? We are one of the oldest and largest midwest dealers who specializes in collector cars, modern muscle cars and imports. We normally have 40-90 collector cars in stock. All of our cars are handpicked purchases, not consignments, that have been evaluated for quality, value and checked over in our shop to assure drivability. These cars are available to look over, test drive and evaluate at our location, by appointment only, due to the extensive amount of travel it takes to find these vehicles. People frequently buy collector cars at auctions and have no idea what they are getting, often regretting the purchase due to issues of condition, driveability, paperwork, etc . We have 40+ year's experience in the automotive industry and can guide our customers through the complete purchase experience including shipping if needed. We will happily consider all types of trades including multiple trades of different types if necessary. We also will purchase restored cars and restored collections of cars. No projects wanted. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding a vehicle we have for sale or a vehicle you have for sale. 319-366-7600
