1966 Mercury Cyclone GTA Rebuilt 390 engine C6 automatic transmission 9 inch rear end Bucket seats and console Power steering and power brakes 1966 Mercury Cyclone GTA. Only 13,812 made makes it a very rare item. VIN S code (390/2V) with an upgraded Holley 4 barrel carburater, Weaind aluminum intake, long tube headers, with automatic transmission, power transfers through a 9 inch rear end, twin scoop GT fiberglass hood, optional bucket seats, optional black vinyl covered Oxford roof, Factory wheels with factory hubcaps with radial tires, chrome remote outside rear view mirror. This 1966 Mercury Cyclone GTA hardtop coupe was delivered to the DSO area of Seattle in February 1966. Finished in Cardinal Red ( code T) with black vinyl top over a black vinyl (interior code 86), the car is powered by a 390ci V8 paired with a three-speed C6 automatic transmission. Options include power steering, an AM radio, and power 4 wheel drum brakes. The car was is the same family for over 24+ years, and had local professional shops paint the car and rebuild the motor. There is a lot of originality with the car with mixture of new and original items. This Cyclone GT is offered with service records dating back to the 1980s, manufacturer’s literature. Finished from the factory in Cardinal Red (T), the paint is nice and smooth. Features include vertically stacked headlights, a Cyclone-specific twin-scoop fiberglass hood, “Cyclone” fender badging, and rocker-panel stripes. Factory steel wheels with chrome hubcaps measuring 14" in diameter are mounted with Radial tires. Braking is handled by power assisted drums. A black (86) monochromatic treatment is carried throughout the interior, including the vinyl bucket seats with new covers, original back seat cover, original carpeting, original door panels, factory center console, and nice dashboard with no cracks. Features include power steering, a push-button AM radio that works, and seatbelts for the front and rear occupants.The factory S-code 390ci V8 was rated at 335 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 427 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm when new and featured a 10.5:1 compression ratio. Power is sent rearward through a Sport Shift Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission, installed a Flowmaster exhaust and the carburetor with a holley.We also have the owners book, receipts and history back to the 80's. We have been around awhile and cyclones do not show up very often. Act fast and be fast!
